The Beacon Project is a prayer group with a focus on prayer formation for mission. It’s vision, to be a light for our city, is held by members from across the pastoral area. Formed in April 2015, it meets at St Swithun’s on Monday evenings (dates for each term published separately), 7.30-9.30pm. A typical evening includes Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praise and worship, time for prayer ministry and may include teaching or preparation for ‘Nightfever’.
‘Nightfever‘, held for the first time in February 2017, is the title given for an evening when the Church is lit in candlelight and teams of street missionaries invite passing pedestrians into the Church to experience the space, the prayerful atmosphere and are invited to light a candle, write a prayer or spend some time quietly in reflection. ‘Nightfever 2’ will be held in July 2017.
