Nov 27 @ 7:30 am - 11:30 pm

Bishop Philip writes…

On Friday 27th November, I invite you to join me in a Day of Prayer for an End to the Coronavirus Pandemic. You can download the booklet here. The 27th November is an opportunity for us as a Diocese to pray:

  • For a speedy end to the pandemic
  • For the protection of all, especially our family and friends
  • For the health of the sick and those who care for them
  • For those suffering financially or in other ways
  • For patients in hospitals and the residents of care-homes
  • For all medical staff and key workers
  • For government leaders, scientists and advisors
  • For the discovery of an effective, ethically sourced, vaccine
  • For patience, perseverance and mental well-being
  • For all who have died and those who mourn them.

The Timetable is below. The whole programme will be offered in the Cathedral. I hope and pray that parishes across the Diocese will replicate as much as possible of the programme and encourage everyone to join in from home. It would also be good for encourage to make a visit to church that day for private prayer. The programme was organised before the lockdown, so will need to be adapted. The Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours and the Liturgy of the Passion will have to be celebrated without a congregation present.
