Maintaining Our Parish– through the Generous Offerings of Parishioners
Every Parish has to raise money to pay for the running costs and maintenance of the parish properties. This includes day to day costs such as heating, lighting, the running of the Parish House, supporting the clergy of the parish, administrative costs, repairs and replacing old furniture and equipment. We all know it is an expensive business running a home today, but we also have two churches and two parish halls to maintain, as well as making a substantial contribution to support the Diocese and cathedral.
Our main source of income is from the generosity of our parishioners and the money they give each week in the offertory collection. So we rely entirely on what you are prepared to give us.
Planned Giving, or making your offertory donation by direct debit or standing order each month, helps to ensure that we have a regular income and so we are better able to plan for regular expenditure as well as put a certain amount away each week for those times when we have major works to cope with. Many parishioners also find it to be an extremely convenient way of making their donations.
