Dear Friends, as I start this I have just returned from our Outreach soup run. Despite the heavy rains we served 9 of our homeless friends, sadly not able to convince one particularly vulnerable young lady *Kate* to be dropped at the night shelter, choose to place herself in a dangerous situation. Please pray she accepts the offer tomorrow.
Words cannot express how grateful we are for your donations of money, toiletries, clothes, shoes, sleeping bags Socks…and the occasional sandwich drop !all most gratefully received. We are running quite low on all of the items now. (Men’s practical shoes sizes 10 & 11 always in need). We are quite savvy with our purchases, Diana always seeming to find a great bargain on cakes! The sandwich fillers probably costing the most to produce in comparison to our soups.
The appreciation from our street friends when a hot drink and sandwich is offered and an item of warm clothing or bedding is priceless!!
Since our pilot project, much has happened with our OCP friends. Every Sunday after the Polish mass thanks to a Rota of ‘Cooks’ Diana, Ruby, Rafel, Marzena & Monica. We have been able to extend the hand of friendship with a community meal. Which has also included some street friends from the surrounding area.
Again with the kind generosity of St Swithun’s parishioners we have been able to support our Dear friend’ mum to be’ in B& B accommodation until further accommodation has now been offered. Thank you for the Baby Boy clothes donations. Any Hospital stay items appreciated.
As Father mentioned previously 2 of our Polish friends accepted a lift to Poland with him to try a reunion with family members.
Also Thanks to Nino and the amazing team at ‘Nature’s Way’ 4 of our friends successfully passed interviews, work trials and will be commencing their second week of employment on Monday. Accommodation being a slight challenge however once again, thanks to
Your AMAZING SUPPORT! we have been able to finance food and accommodation in Holiday Chalets in till their first wages. We have had great reports of how impressed the management team is with the politeness and work efficiency of our friends! WELL DONE to them! PLEASE continue to support us with your prayers, Donations & Time!!
