We are half way through the Open Church Project! – and can only Thank God for such an outpouring of the Holy Spirit amongst the whole project.
Our guests have commented on the warm reception of St Swithun’s parish and appreciated the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Which is our pray for this project! An Open church and Open Hearts!
If I could share some special moments which has warmed our hearts…Our blessed sisters Monika and Marzenka delivery beautiful and tasty polish bread and cakes. The donation from the Polish shop in North End of an Apple pudding. Our local Romanian Barber from Silky smooth offering free haircuts! To a few unexpected visits from parishioners just wanting to stop in for a chat, and welcome our new friends (understandably we have to keep the volunteers to a minimum, so as to not overcrowd our friends). and keep the atmosphere peaceful and relaxed!
Not forgetting our Pray Warriors giving up some sleep time to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament(I have heard already of many blessings received).
To Caritas in our Diocese & our wonderful volunteers who have committed their time, love and compassion to welcome our friends into the heart of our Community! Much Love & Gratefulness
ALL NIGHT ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
in the intention of all the homeless and for our ministry for them. In the back of the church You will find a place to put your name – if You would like to sacrifice your night time for 30 minutes prayer in the presence of Jesus Christ exposed in the Blessed Sacrament. Many times the homeless can’t see any chance to change their situation, – but we know from God and for HIM, nothing is impossible, so we will entrust them and us to HIM.
