Welcome to this week’s newsletter! Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Lent.
What the three – Peter, James and John, saw on the mountain of the Transfiguration would always remain with them. Somehow by the gift of God the Father, they saw Jesus in glory, and heard the words of God, ‘Listen to him’. The reason for the listening would be because he is the beloved Son of God.
What Jesus says comes from his heart, and was is in his heart is what he learned from the Father. This was something not just brought from heaven, but learned every day in his prayer with God his Father. The message of Jesus is an eternal message. He expressed this message always in the context and needs of the people he spoke with. So too for the apostles. They learned a lot on the mountain from God, but they were not to remain there. As he brought them up the mountain, later he brought them down. They had seen the Lord in glory and the afterglow would remain, and support them through the Passion and Death of the Lord, and they would remember his words about rising from the dead.
Lent is a time for dipping into the words and the truth of Jesus. We are never the poorer for this. We do so in prayer, in reading the gospel, taking some time with a spiritual book maybe, and helping the needy. All way of getting in touch with God.
Look through the gospel and our readings for this weekend. You will find all of the service times for Stations of the Cross during Lent on our website under the daily services section.

“CAN-DO CHRISTIANS” A MESSAGE FROM FATHER MARCIN
Dearest Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Dear Friends: I would like to share with You some things which are about our Parish and for our Parish. Our Bishop Philip in the last Pastoral Letter to us, last weekend asked us to be ‘CAN-DO’ Christians. I’m absolutely sure, that You have noticed how many things already happen in our Parish to help in our spiritual grow to love God more and more in His Word to us, in His Sacraments for us (which is His real presence among us). We also go out to meet those who still searching for God, or who were not so lucky to have personal contact with Jesus Christ.
COME AND ASK ANY QUESTION ABOUT OUR FAITH
Dear Friends, if You will be not able to attend weekday’s Masses, You can always find these homilies, and many, many other interesting things on the website: www.stswithuns.org.uk
Also, as a complement to it, I would like to put a special table in the church hall, which will be ready for anyone who would like to ask, even the most difficult questions – about our Catholic faith. Because, I still meet so many sad situations, when some opinions created by media or people of not good will, to discredit Catholic faith, completely destroy people’s belief and stop them practicising their faith.
So, whoever, after Mass at 10.15am will sit, I will be very happy to join them and try my best to explain difficult subjects, misleads and misunderstandings shared in this world about our faith.
YOU ARE VERY WELCOME!
NEW SECTION ON OUR WEBSITE IF YOU JUST WANT TO SPEND SOME SPECIAL TIME WITH GOD
A big THANK YOU to our sponsors who contribute to our Parish costs
