ADORE RETREAT – Alton Days of Renewal 2018 Programme – Good news for Everyone

Mar 24 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Adore Alton Days of Renewal

Programme for 2018 Theme: Good news for Everyone

Renewal and Mission

The Church exists to evangelise. “The presentation of the Gospel message is not an optional contribution for the Church.” –

Pope Paul VI Evangelii Nuntiandi 5.

Luke 4:18-19 Set Prisoners Free

This is to let you know about the next Alton Day of Renewal coming up on March 24th. We are continuing this year’s theme of “Good News for Everyone – Renewal and Mission.” The aim is to inspire and equip us to be joyful and effective witnesses of the Gospel message to all we meet.

This month “Living Kingdom Values” will look at how our everyday lives can be transformed into opportunities for witness. Our guest speaker (in a change to the previously advertised programme) will be Gemma Wildsmith, who has many years of experience in youth ministry and young adult formation. She is on the organising team for Celebrate Conferences and has a passion for evangelisation. The Day of Renewal is growing in popularity – last month a Priest brought along a group from his Parish. Perhaps your Parish would like to do the same.

Here’s a recent comment we received recently: “The day of Renewal is just wonderful …. for me it’s a Celebration, a time when I can worship freely in the Spirit , with love, joy, thanksgiving, a surrendering in love enveloped in the indescribable marvel of the Holy Spirit’s presence. The music is perfect, so inspiring and…. just right!”

Key Scripture: Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

“Although every Christian is called to evangelism, none of us is equal to the task. We all need the Holy Spirit. That’s why the Charismatic Renewal has an essential contribution to make in the whole area of evangelization….we should understand that nothing is impossible when people are willing to submit their lives to the Holy Spirit’s transforming power… He will equip us to play our part…. We are to be joyful witnesses to what God has done for us, and to what we know He longs to do for every human being….We must go out in the power of the Holy Spirit and talk about the Jesus we know and love.”

Charles Whitehead in Pentecost is always for living.

Overview: Our 2018 programme will seek to inspire and equip us in the essential area of mission and evangelization, with speakers looking at both the theory and practice of bringing the good news to the world, especially the needy.

Please put the dates in your diary and please keep our 2018 programme in your prayers.
